Role responsibilities


With our new Taff's Well Depot, comes many exciting job opportunities to join the business during a truly transformational time.

We are currently recruiting for a Control Centre Team Leader to be based in [INSERT LOCATION HERE].

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • To manage the fleet interface with operational colleagues, including the control of Fleet Mobile Resources staff, and to provide technical advice to ensure internal & external reporting is both timely and accurate.
  • Manage the team of Maintenance controllers keeping their competency up to date and motivate staff under your leadership to achieve targets set and to allocate the team workload.
  • Take ownership of exam maintenance locations and manage the train diagramming process effectively to ensure that the units are delivered at the required location, and provide delivery reports to all locations including outstations across the network.
  • Reduce fleet delay minutes by interrogating realtime TRUST Delays and advise Delay Attribution staff on nonFleet attributions to be disputed/attributed elsewhere.
  • To manage the daytoday roster, providing weekly duty coverage and standing in in emergency circumstances.

The position covers a variety of shifts, which includes nights, weekends, and bank holidays so applicants must be flexible.

_Essential requirements to be considered for this role:_

  • Engineering qualification, in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
  • Demonstrable knowledge of 2nd Generation DMU traction and rolling stock maintenance at all levels
  • Experienced in Depot maintenance and faultfinding techniques
  • Good IT skills including MS Office packages and Inhouse systems (Ravers, Genius, Datasys and TRUST)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Minimum of 3 years of railway traction experience
  • Experience/knowledge of 175's is desirable but not essential
