About the role


The Community Organising team's purpose is to recruit and empower more people in the UK to know, claim and stand up for human rights.

It empowers groups, networks, and individuals to have an impact in bringing about positive human rights change, to reach new audiences and to be champions for Amnesty International and its work in and with their communities.


The Activism Events Assistant works closely with the Activism Events Manager to support colleagues and activists to organise successful events that achieve AIUK's goal to build a powerful, diverse, inclusive human rights movement in the UK.

This includes but is not limited to the AIUK National Gathering, conferences and special events.


The Activism Events Assistant is a diverse and pivotal role, providing administrative and project support to the Amnesty International UK Activist Events programme.

This role ensures we have excellent administrative and logístical processes that support our events and our aim of enabling more people across the UK to achieve human rights change.


The diversity of the role includes:

Supporting the design, production and delivery of online, hybrid and in person events, training and workshops, including booking venues, entertainment, equipment and supplies.; Managing, developing and maintaining the collection and storage of data; Communicating with a variety of audiences and keeping sources of information up to date; More details can be found by downloading the job description from our careers portal.
