You will work with the Business Risk and Controls Director to support business and functional heads discharge their first-line risk management obligations in line with policy and regulation.
Role Responsibilities
How you'll spend your time
:
- Provide operational and/or financial risk management by working with the Business Risk and Controls Director to support the organization in critical risk control development and daytoday risk oversight for complex product lines.
- Provide project support and lead process reviews identifying risk and developing solutions while maintaining regulatory and supervisory controls.
- Serve as escalation point of contact/ risk liaison to ensure appropriate information exchange.
- Proactively identify opportunities and recommend solutions to mitigate current and future business risk.
- Provide leadership, training, coaching as appropriate. Review internal and industry best practices, Risk/Compliance guidance, champion 2nd line Risk initiatives, and makes recommendations.
- Review trends in Risk Events in business function to feed into proposals of Senior Leader communications.
- Review inventories/maps/Key Risk Indicators that are impacted by Risk Events, Change Programmes or other events, which may cause them to be updated and reissued.
- Support with writing/reviewing select policies and procedures.
- Run tracker or project management for controls remediation projects.
- Coordinate Business Continuity Processes and operational resilience exercises.
- Support with coordination and performing risk assessment activities and Risk Controls Committee deep dives; prepare recommendations for presentation to functional head.
- Ensure timely and accurate Risk Event recording and proposes escalation.
- Oversee Risk Event action remediation. Review risk trends and recommend actions.
- Conduct riskbased testing at the direction of the Business Risk and Controls Director.
- Support in coordinating responses to findings from Risk Liaison Officer testing, RCS assurance or SOx testing
- Support the preparation of agenda/papers for Business/Function control meetings and updates for Risk Controls Committee.
Key Capabilities
To be successful in this role you will have
:
- Knowledge of current techniques in operational risk management, controls and operational soundness
- Ability to assess data points (e.g. inherent risk, crystallized risk, emerging risks, control effectiveness) to propose an actionable plan to bring data points into tolerance.
- Ability to test control design, effectiveness and evidencing.
- Governance: ability to create targeted and highquality papers for governance forums
