Job summary

We are looking to recruit 3 x A&C band 3 office administrator/coordinator posts (Mon-Fri within UHB Pathology. In each case we are looking for an enthusiastic person who has attention to detail and with organisation, PC and communication skills.

post is in Tissue Services, working alongside the clinical teams at Queen Elizabeth Hospital site. Tissue Services are responsible for managing and ensuring Human Tissue Authority (HTA) compliance for Human Application ensuring QEHB/UHB meets the licensing and quality requirements along with administration and technical support for ordering, receipt, disposal, storage and traceability for products for clinical transplantation at QEHB.

post is cross site with a primary base at Cellular Pathology at Heartlands site but will also work at the QE to provide cover in Tissue Services (as above). Core work includes laboratory procurement, work on staff rosters, personnel records, working with laboratory data and quality records. This post holder will

post is in Microbiology based at QE Hospital site. It will support both clinical microbiology and also the laboratory team. Duties include rotas, invoices, minutes and a range of administrative tasks to support microbiology services.

Main duties of the job

These are key administrative and clerical roles within microbiology and Cellular Pathology/Tissue Services). The duties cover a range of administrative requirements including placing orders, minute taking, managing stock, dealing with suppliers, ordering and overseeing stock, record traceability, use of quality management systems, data collating and audit checks in order to meet the requirements of compliance.

We are looking for someone ideally with a good working knowledge and experience of healthcare clinical or laboratory teams, a clear communicator and methodical team member.

You need to have a conscientious approach, be able to use your own initiative, work autonomously and have the ability to demonstrate admin experience as well as support the Team. You will need to possess good time management and prioritisation skills whilst ensuring that data is accurate and up to date. You will also need to possess excellent IT and communication skills, as well as displaying attention to detail.
