Lansdowne Secure Children's Home in East Sussex is a national provision offering support and care for male and female young people aged between 10 and 17 years old whose behaviours present a significant risk of harm to themselves or to others.Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an exceptional person with the ability to inspire, lead and develop the integrated health and wellbeing service delivery within Lansdowne Secure Children's Home, ensuring that young people have access to the services and support they need to meet their physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing needs.We are looking for an operational manager with a specialist public health or mental health or children's nursing background with proven ability to provide the leadership and management in a multidisciplinary team.This role can consider B7-B8a development opportunities to grow our own leaders of the future.

Main duties of the job Operationally lead the healthcare team at Lansdowne whilst working in partnership with SPFT, NHSE and East Sussex colleagues.

To work effectively within a multidisciplinary setting, holding self and colleagues to account appropriately and demonstrating personal commitment to integrated (managerial/professional) leadership.

Achieve an agreed set of health and social care performance targets.

Provide services within the agreed financial resources and achieve all financial targets, including cost efficiency savings ensuring maximum value in terms of clinical and cost effectiveness.

To contribute in the planning and delivery of service objectives, managing specific change projects as required, ensuring customer focus, consistency, quality, and cost effectiveness.

Respond to Serious Untoward Incidents (SUIs), complaints and communications, ensuring timely and thorough investigation, effective communication of recommendations and closely monitoring actions to ensure they are fully

Deputises for the General Manager and colleagues as required. Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Educated to degree/ diploma level with a relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Clinical/post graduate management qualification to masters or equivalent level of experience and proven ability to perform at this level
Knowledge/Experience Essential
  • Extensive experience of and demonstrable achievement in managing health/social care services.
  • Experience of working in a CAMHS or Children's Services Team.
  • Management of resources and good track record with change management, efficiency savings and financial recovery plans.
  • Experience of managing a diverse practitioner team (multi-site).
  • Measurable track record in involving and motivating staff to improve performance.
