Job Title: Specialist Physiotherapist - Oncology and Haematology (8-Month Rotations)

Description: An amazing opportunity is now available for a skilled physiotherapist to join the Cancer Rehabilitation Team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, one of the leading hospital Foundation Trusts in the country. They have a team of over 300 physiotherapy professionals.

Main Duties:

  • Rotate across diverse oncology and haemato-oncology areas
  • Participate in inpatient oncology/haematology, outpatient clinics, and community cancer clinics
  • Provide rehabilitative assessment and intervention to cancer patients
  • Autonomously conduct comprehensive assessments and treatment plans
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

This role is suitable for an experienced Band 5 or current Band 6 physiotherapist looking to specialize in cancer rehabilitation and expand their expertise. The opportunity offers collaboration with various healthcare professionals.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

  • Diploma/degree in physiotherapy
  • Professional development focusing on older adults
  • HCPC registration
  • Knowledge of relevant conditions and research evidence

Desirable

  • Membership of Special Interest Group
  • CSP membership

Skills

Essential

  • Understanding of professional legal responsibilities
  • Clear and logical presentation of information
  • Participation in staff training as a team player
  • Effective organization, prioritization, and delegation

Desirable

  • Proficient IT skills
  • Strong presentation abilities
  • Evidence of involvement in research/audit

Experience

Essential

  • Varied experience at a Band 5 level
  • Engagement in on-call and weekend responsibilities
  • Work experience within physiotherapy teams and Multidisciplinary Teams (MDT)

Desirable

  • Rotational work in acute hospital settings
  • Previous Band 6 experience
  • Supervisory experience and teaching involvement
