About the role
We now have an opportunity for a Water Networks Maintenance Operative to join our Network Services Team.
As a Water Networks Maintenance Operative, you will carry out repairs and maintenance to our underground pipes and assets, this is a physically demanding role that involves hand digging in public highways.
A van is provided for business purposes only including transport to and from work each day - essentially, keeping water flowing to our customers 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Reporting to your Area Manager you will undertake all Water network repairs and maintenance work, safely, and to a high standard, and at all times delivering great customer service.
You will be working in a team that delivers an outstanding service 24 hour per day, 365 days per year and are one of the most visible teams to our domestic and commercial customers
This role has also been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you'll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test.
Prospective employees and agency workers in defined safety and security critical roles will be required to undertake a drug and alcohol test after the job offer has been made.
Prospective employees and agency workers who fail a pre-employment urine drug screen will have their sample analysed by the Company appointed laboratory as a matter of course.

As part of a team that is visible and representing Essex & Suffolk Water every day, we need people who are passionate about carrying out high quality consistent work, with good communication skills, together with a flexible attitude to each day are essential, whilst also delivering outstanding customer service.
We want our customers to have clean, flowing water 24/7 so we look for people who can work flexibly and take part in a standby rota.
