We are seeking an experienced London market Senior Casualty Underwriter to enhance the growth momentum of our Casualty business. You will lead our market engagement within complex corporate and multinational account segments, collaborate with major broking houses, and contribute to the underwriting function of our corporate commercial business.

What will you be doing?

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with customers, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Engage in general underwriting and business development, focusing on primary and excess of loss corporate accounts and large multinationals.
  • Collaborate with pricing and reserving actuarial teams to ensure performance aligns with profitability and growth targets, adjusting terms when needed.
  • Conduct detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors to pinpoint growth possibilities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the team, aiding in the training and development of others.
  • Lead negotiations of Terms & Conditions to close deals.
  • Contribute to team strategy, carry out team activities and initiatives, in the market area, regional markets, and for the Casualty business overall.

  • Expertise in Casualty Underwriting for large corporate and multinational accounts.
  • Strong broker network, market knowledge, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of underwriting philosophy, techniques, regulations, governance, and guidelines.
  • Ability to assess risk effectively.
  • Team player with the ability to influence peers and guide team members.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency and skills indicative of progressive positions.
