Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.

It is an exciting and important time to be joining us at Crisis. We work with thousands of people across England, Scotland and Wales so they can leave homelessness behind for good. We have recently adapted the way our services work to maximise our impact in ending homelessness.

We have increased our capacity to work with people one to one and also strengthened our ability to support those people facing the most barriers to preventing or ending their homelessness.


About the role
You will also coordinate the Skylight's Health and Wellbeing activities to all members.

This could include managing volunteers and working collaboratively with other local organisations to offer services at Skylight that improve the health and wellbeing of the most vulnerable and excluded people in the borough.

We have previously offered for example vaccine pop ups, Hep C testing, HIV testing, yoga classes, sport classes, shiatsu massage, but this is your opportunity to decide (together with members) what the offer looks like This is a very varied role that requires you to continuously develop your skills and knowledge due to the varied needs of your members.


You will work closely our internal Clinical Psychologists, the Homeless Health Team, as well as the local Mental Health and Substance Misuse Services.

You will build an excellent knowledge of the local health services and will support your colleagues to liaise with and refer their members to the appropriate health services.


About you

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have experience in delivering person-centred, psychologically informed services that are responsive to the diverse needs of the people who you are supporting.
- have a good understanding of the barriers that people experiencing homeless face and ability to adapt your way of working and communicating to meet the needs of the individual.
- have a good understanding of social care and health services
- have a good understanding of the importance of good record keeping, meeting agreed case management standards and being able to evidence the work done.
- have previous experience of managing volunteers and coordinating a programme of activities
- have excellent time-management skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities and exercise good judgment under pressure.
- have an understanding of the importance of protecting an individual's personal and sensitive data when working with someone's information.
- have excellent communication skills, spoken and written, including the ability to promote Crisis' services to a wide variety of audiences.
- have knowledge and experience of safeguarding and commitment to act in compliance with safeguarding policy and procedures.

You may have experience in; Social Work, Mental Health, Person-Centred Support Worker
