Housing First Workers x5 to join our team based in London. We have vacancies in our Lambeth, Enfield and Haringey Housing First Teams.

This role will require flexible working in accordance with the needs of young people, with some evening and weekend working required

About us


We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently.

Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support, and life skills to get them back into education, training, and employment.

We want to end youth homelessness by 2037_._

Together with our partners, we support over 14,000 young people each year.


As a Housing First Worker, you will need to have strong people skills to build psychologically informed relationships with young people.

You will also need excellent communication, organizational, and advocacy skills.

We are looking for people with experience working with young people or adults with multiple and complex needs, preferably in outreach or floating support capacity.

  • Effective communicator with a natural ability to facilitate open and honest conversations.
  • Able decisionmaker with a can do attitude.
  • Confidence to advocate on the behalf of others ensuring best practice and safeguarding of young people.
  • Confident in a lone working role with flexibility to fulfil the duties and responsibilites.
  • Respectful and empathetic, always considering the impact on our young people.
  • Flexible, always adapting to changing needs prioritising the safety and wellbeing of young people.
  • Engaging, committed to selfdevelopment by engaging with training and continuous learning.
  • Proactive, always looking for creative ways of working.

What you'll be doing...

  • Visiting young people in their homes and supporting them in their journey, coproducing holistic support interventions and strengthsbased risk management plans that promote wellbeing and support young people to achieve positive outcomes
  • Working proactively with young people to sustain their tenancies and prevent homelessness
  • Actively supporting young people to set up their homes, including supporting them with obtaining white goods and furniture
  • Advocating, signposting, and referring young people to a range of internal and community resources to support them to develop the skills, resilience, and confidence to live happy and successful lives
  • Willingness to work flexibly in accordance with the needs of young people, with some evening and weekend working required
