As a Barclays Business Development Director, you will lead business development activity through deal origination and winning new business to achieve a target. Your primary focus will to be the key person for winning new business within a geographic hub both internally and externally to the Bank. You will need to maintain expert knowledge of the local market through networking and understanding the needs and requirements of the local business community.

What will you be doing?

Developing and coordinating business development activities within allocated geographic area

Developing and maintaining target lists alongside each Relationship Director

Attending team meetings on a regular basis to maintain dialogue/sharing of information with RD's to ensure up to date knowledge of market-place

Actively generating opportunities through Cold Calling, Direct marketing, and referrals

Providing a professional approach to business development with quality marketing, research, events and pitches to raise the team profile

Using Sales Playbook to follow a customer centric and professional sales process

Operating in accordance with BCB risk appetite and lending procedures

Developing high quality credit solutions which are both practical and appropriate, including lending structures for customer

What we're looking for:

Excellent market knowledge – dynamics of market place, national, regional and local

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience of working in a corporate business environment

Basic grasp of the corporate banking suite of products (cash management, liquidity management, lending products)

Skills that will help you in the role:

Comprehensive knowledge of mandatory Risk policies and procedures relating to credit conformance and regulatory, operational and legal risks

Where will you be working?

Tay House is nestled in a fantastic central city location. Our modern Glasgow Contact Centre is directly next to the M8 and a short walk from Central Station and Charing Cross train station. Tay House offers a communal coffee pod, but if you fancy nipping out we are right next to two of the main shopping streets in the city centre.
