Description of Team / Department

Purpose of / Responsibilities of the role


Operation of mobile plant (FEL) for tasks including loading trains, road wagons and dumpers, site clean-up and management along with moving stock for operation for sales and mineral movement - as required by site management.

To operate mobile plant in a safe and efficient manner.


To maintain where required mobile plant in a good order physically with re-fueling, greasing, cleaning in accordance with the manufacturers and Hanson recommendations.

To complete daily inspection sheets of the conditions of static & mobile plant.

To report problems or defects of static & mobile plant to the site supervisor.

Skills / Experience


Good general education required, and large amount of health and safety regulations and Quarry Regulations are required to be understood and carried out.

Certification by MPQC/CPCS for mobile plant operation.

NVQ level 2 in mobile plant operations required following EPIC completion.

Wheeled Loading Shovel required and Articulated Dumper ticket desirable.

Experience of loading trains would be beneficial.
