In our Professional Support Service, you'll play a vital role, supporting Children's Services on an administrative basis, you'll contribute significantly to Children's Services, ensuring positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

What is the job role?

This role will be based within PSS Youth Justice Service Administration Team.


Youth Offending Teams were established under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 with the principal aim being to prevent the offending behaviour by children.

The Act imposed a duty on each local authority together with its statutory partners, Police, Health, and Probation, to ensure that adequate Youth Justice Services are available in their area.


Professional Support Services provide daily administrative support to the service area including Team Managers, Case Managers, Court Worker, Support Workers.

Volunteers and Sessional Workers

The key tasks of the service are:

  • Data Entry onto a Bespoke system
  • Minute Taking
  • Finance
  • General Office Duties
  • Any other Duty within the OSO PSS duty


This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
