The Wellcome/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and well organised HR Administrator.


The Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute, renowned for its research at the interface between developmental biology and cancer biology.

With core funding from Wellcome and Cancer Research UK, the Institute is a friendly, vibrant and exciting place to work.

There are around 300 people in its self-contained building, comprising 16 research group leaders, 250 scientific staff including PhD students, and 40 support staff.


Main duties will include:

  • Providing HR administrative support
  • Administering and updating various HR systems for recruitment, sickness, annual leave, probation, staff reviews, staff records etc
  • Completing HR and payroll paperwork as required
  • Acting as first point of contact for HRrelated queries
  • Contributing to inductions for new members of the Institute
  • Setting up visitor agreements
  • Acting as secretary for the WIDE Committee (Wellbeing, Inclusivity, Diversity and Equality)

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 May 2024 in the first instance.
