Role Summary
The MSK Co-ordinator role consists of Four key elements, which will comprise a typical working week:

  • Primary role Delivering a musculoskeletal assessment for an employee over the telephone using the Optima Health Digital Assessment Routing Tool (DART) as part of a physiotherapy referral and implementing the DART-recommended referral pathway. Full training and support to complete these assessments will be provided.
  • Delivering Health Conditional assessment for an employee over the telephone using the Health Conditions Digital Assessment Routing Tool (DART)
  • Providing scheduled Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments to employees, including producing a semiformatted report for them and their manager. These assessments are provided remotely either by telephone or videocall. Full training and support to complete these assessments will be provided.
  • Day to day support for the MSK Department and support to the MSK Lead. This includes an employeefacing element, including taking selfreferral calls, registering new cases, and booking appointments for the employee. Daily administration tasks include the endtoend tracking and management of referrals, whilst adhering to contract Service Level Agreement (SLA) criteria, scheduling sessions with Optima Health clinicians, processing clinical reports, and assisting with billing. There is a close working relationship between the MSK Coordinator and our physiotherapists and occupational therapists, as well as frequent communication with our Clinical Service Managers and external customers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Correctly processing new case referrals onto the case management system
  • Scheduling appointments for clinical assessments and treatment in Optima Health clinician diaries and referral to external providers
  • Completing DART musculoskeletal triage with employees
  • Providing confirmation correspondence and telephone updates to clients and employees on all activities undertaken
  • When difficulties are encountered proactively update referring managers with solutions
  • Correctly logging all activities and notes within the case management system and/or tracking system ensuring it is always up to date
  • Managing customer enquiries ensuring queries are answered professionally in line with the customer charter
  • Manage complaints in line with Optima Health's complaint handling process.
  • Completing DSE assessments and related reports to the standard required
