The Assistant Design Manager Role

We are seeking an Assistant Design Manager to contribute to this exciting project with the following responsibilities:

  • Work closely and proactively with the design team during the design development phase to provide early input, ensuring timely production of documentation.
  • Ensure that design documentation aligns with buildability preferences and construction methods, incorporating inputs from subcontractors.
  • Manage the release of design documentation for construction.
  • Coordinate the approval of subcontractor shop drawings by the designer as needed.
  • Facilitate and propose solutions for on-site issues in collaboration with construction teams and designer site representatives.

Your Profile

  • Prior experience in a similar role within a relevant engineering organization or design consultancy.
  • Hold an engineering degree or higher, preferably in structural or tunnelling engineering, or possess equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in tunnels, underground structures, or heavy civil engineering is essential.
  • Excellent project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Assertive and proactive with a strong ability to respond swiftly to challenges or tasks.
  • Skilled in building relationships, managing expectations, and meeting stakeholder needs.
  • Resilient and able to navigate differing viewpoints while advocating for the best solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
