What you'll do

As the Engineering Capital Planning Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the engineering programming of new capital projects to support our Net Zero 2035 carbon emissions commitments. Reporting to the Head of Carbon, Utilities, and Engineering, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to deliver best value and lowest cost engineering solutions without compromising safety or equipment performance. With your expertise in refrigeration, electrical, or mechanical disciplines, you will be the technical expert in engineering design or delivery, ensuring that all systems meet or exceed specified standards and continuously improve. Additionally, you will analyse audits, performance data, and reporting systems to identify areas of improvement opportunities, driving optimised life cycle costs while proactively seeking innovations and sustainable solutions. You will also be responsible for promoting the highest standards of customer care and compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as actively engaging with stakeholders and external counterparts to achieve strategic objectives. Your ability to make sound decisions, manage resources effectively, and communicate with influence will be essential in this role.

Who you are

As an Engineering Capital Planning Manager, you are a highly experienced professional in the electrical, refrigeration, or mechanical industry, with a deep understanding of energy and environmental legislation and its application with a commercial focus. With a strategic mindset, you effectively manage energy issues and support internal stakeholders in their commercial growth strategies, particularly in relation to our Net Zero 2035 carbon emissions commitments. Your strong stakeholder management skills enable you to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels, while your financial acumen ensures effective budget management. With excellent communication skills, you confidently engage with senior managers, explaining complex ideas in a simple manner. Your expertise in managing multiple service providers and your knowledge of KPIs and service levels contribute to the successful delivery of targets.
