Capital Programme Design and Delivery Lead
Severn Trent Water is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the delivery of the Capital Programme, ensuring successful project outcomes and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead an integrated team of Design Engineers to develop Engineering and Process solutions for Waste Water Treatment investment needs.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful design and validation of solutions, adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Direct accountability for a team of 6-8 Design Engineers, providing resources and budget management.
- Collaborate with key internal partners to ensure requirements are clearly understood and solutions designed to meet stakeholders' needs.
- Resource and budget accountability for a team of designers producing solution designs for the Capital Delivery Roadmap.
- Ensure design proposals deliver value for customers and lowest whole life costs.
- Fulfill the role of CDM Principal Designer for all projects within the team.
- Develop a strong working relationship with stakeholders to ensure successful design, delivery, and handover of projects.
- Drive the identification and management of risks impacting the successful delivery of the Capital Programme.
- Develop technical and leadership capabilities within the internal team, actively managing performance and supporting development opportunities.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience of leading a successful design team, coaching skills, and building capability.
- Strong planning and implementation skills.
- Experience of managing external suppliers to deliver output to prescribed standards and quality measures.
- Strong project management experience, leading design projects to ensure designs are delivered to time, cost, and quality.
- Experience of providing designs and specifications for commercial negotiations.
- Water sector experience or similar.
- Experience in innovation of design to assist with the development of innovative solutions.
Capabilities:

Qualifications:
- Qualified in an Engineering, Construction, and Project Management or Environmental discipline, degree preferable.
- Full UK driving license.
