To provide training, advice and support to learners to ensure they obtain the skills, knowledge and experience relevant to their vocational or industry qualification.


As part of the learner progression, you will work with the learning mentor to ensure that the learners you support are undertaking the correct pathway industry work placements, supported by the learning mentor team within Green Labyrinth.


To support in class delivery in accordance with direction from main tutors in Maths, English and Vocational lessons with particular focus on EHCP learners and support the tutor to deliver learning activities using a variety of methods (including blended learning, if absolutely required), which are contextualised to working environments and to support the development of knowledge and skills.


Relevant and recent industry / work-based experience is required as well as a clear understanding of vocational qualifications and quality frameworks.


Key Responsibilities

  • Follow direction from tutor to support all learners' access to learner content
  • Contribute to implementation of inclass Behaviour Policy
  • Responsible for implementation of company Safeguarding Policy
  • Contribute to regular marking of learners' formative and summative work, providing written and verbal feedback in accordance with Marking Policy
  • Contribute to monitoring of learners' performance, attainment and progress including EHCP outcome tracking
  • Contribute to standardisation of work on a termly basis, including student ILP and tracking of evidence

Qualifications, Experience & Background
Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics. - Essential

Education to Level - Desirable.

Evidence of Continuous Professional Development - Desirable

First Aid qualified - Desirable

Experience
Experience of Coaching Young People - Essential

Experience of using strategies to manage challenging behaviour - Essential

Experience of supporting young people of all abilities including those with SEN, EAL and/or who are gifted and talented - Essential

Experience working within a school setting - Desirable.

Experience of developing and delivering consistently effective monitoring and tracking of pupils' successes and areas for development - Desirable.

Knowledge and Skills
Understanding of how to monitor and track the progress of learners - Essential

An understanding of the complex lives that some young people lead - Essential

Understanding of safeguarding - Essential

Knowledge of child learning processes and SEN's - Essential

Ability to overcome communication barriers with children and adults - Essential
