An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Cancer referrals office for a motivated, enthusiastic and self-driven individual to undertake a role as a Cancer Data and Referrals Officer

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person to manage the urgent GP referrals booking system.

The post holder will play a key role to make sure that the Trust meets the 14 days cancer target and alert the Cancer Manager if they foresee any breaches.

The post holder will be communicating to all levels of the clinical and admin teams to ensure that patients are booked and attend within the target time.


You will be a part of the Cancer Referrals team and will have excellent organisational and communication skills, and be committed to customer care.


The Cancer Referrals Service is responsible for the booking of urgent suspected cancer for all specialties within the national cancer targeted time.

The cancer data and referrals officer will communicate effectively with patients, GP practices, the public and staff working in various departments across the organizations.


The post holder will manage GP referral bookings through the ERS system, processing the GP urgent 2ww Proforma and will be responsible for ensuring the electronic referral bookings system works effectively at Homerton University Hospital.

The post Holder will ensure all appropriate processes are used for all our various specialties.

The Cancer data and Referrals officer will be responsible for flagging 14 days breaches to the Cancer Services Manager and for liaising with relevant Services for any 2ww capacity issues.
