This role is ideal for someone with a background in business development within the Water sector.
- Develop, review, and update the company's strategic sales plan for the Environment & Water infrastructure markets.
- Manage relationships with key clients, contractors, and industry partners.
- Identify and assess new opportunities, maintaining an updated sales pipeline.
- Conduct market analysis and trend assessments in relevant segments.
- Create win strategies for key opportunities and establish strategic partnerships.
- Lead bid processes, negotiate agreements, and ensure compliance.
- Form winning bid teams, allocate resources, and manage budgets.
- Direct bid activities, monitor progress, and drive innovation.
- Collaborate with technical and finance teams for optimal solutions and proposals.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance in proposal submissions.
- Participate in client engagement and steering committees during procurement phases.
- Analyze client feedback to enhance the quality of bid submissions.
- Facilitate handover of successful bids to project teams.
- Engage in external communications and industry involvement.
Requirements:
- Proven track record in sales, bid management, or project delivery, ideally within the UK in the Water & Environment sectors.
- Relevant engineering sector experience is preferred; construction and related industry backgrounds can also be considered relevant.
- Proficient in client relationship management, commercial awareness, and contract management.
- Strong experience in transversal leadership, collaborative working relationships, and excellent communication skills.
- Minimum of 10-15 years' experience in Business Development, Sales, and/or Bids in the Water & Environment sectors.
- Ability to expand into new business, maintain stakeholder relationships, and adapt to challenges.
- Relevant business or engineering degree.
- Adaptable, pragmatic, and capable of thriving under pressure.
- In-depth understanding of behavioural-based safety, safety leadership, and commercial finance.
