We are looking for a Data Quality Lead to join our team at Cygnet Healthcare.


The Data Quality Lead will be based at Cygnet IMT Offices and will be responsible for supporting the Head of Information Management and Privacy and the Information Governance team with the various Data Quality requirements of the Cygnet group.

This will include data quality policy development, system support, advice and guidance, audits and Data Quality Improvement Plans. As part of the role you will be ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.


The post holder will be responsible for monitoring the standards of information management and data quality throughout the group to ensure we can deliver accurate and robust reporting.


Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Raise awareness of the importance of accurate and thorough record keeping standards and encourage all staff that hold, obtain, record, use and share information do so in accordance with Cygnet Policies and good practice.
  • Ensure that all business systems are updated and reviewed effectively and access is given on a needs to know basis by reviewing and auditing access levels
  • Ensure that systems contain data that has been quality checked and the reports to check this quality are reviewed and provided in a timely manner to those that need them.
  • Take a lead in ensuring that the data quality element of the annual DSPT assessment is completed each year in conjunction with Cygnet's IT department.
  • Create and maintain a reporting work plan to ensure the reporting requirements of the team are recorded and actioned appropriately and within relevant time scales.
  • Ensure all data is maintained, updated, archived and destroyed in accordance with policy and Data Protection legislation.
  • Complete data quality checks and assign work where needed to administrators to ensure data quality is maintained.
  • Administration tasks for the Data Quality Team.
  • Monitor and report on IG training statistics.
  • Monitor and Improve Data Quality across Cygnet systems.
  • Ensure that where sites are identified as struggling with maintaining Data Quality that training is provided to assist.
  • Monitor and reporting on Data Quality statistics
  • Support Information Asset Owners & Administrators in the execution of their duties
  • To identify own training needs and undertake regular continued professional development
  • Maintain a log of all Data Quality issues, outcomes, recommendations and actions
  • Provide a weekly, monthly and quarterly data quality report to the head of the department so that the business has an understanding of where it's data quality issues are.
