The Role

University Hospital Monklands has two great opportunities available for Advanced Practitioners. In this role, you will work independently across Primary, Community, and Acute Services, covering a seven-day schedule including public holidays. Your main responsibilities will include clinical decision-making, assessment, and treatment of patients in the Acute care setting.

You will collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), ensuring daily communication about patients requiring follow-up by other services.

Your duties will involve providing assessment, clinical care, and management for both stable and acutely unwell patients and their families, making autonomous decisions using advanced skills and knowledge. You will be accountable for assessing care needs and delivering advanced care. Additionally, medical telehealth support will be accessible as needed from a designated source.

What we'll need you to bring

  • NMC Registered Nurse / AHP / Pharmacist with valid NMC/HCPC / GPHC Registration
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced clinical practice and expertise within speciality
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards
  • Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience in relevant conditions and policies
  • Evidence of advanced practice skills and clinical judgement
  • Experience in management and/or leadership
  • Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality
  • Team-working/leadership skills and motivation abilities
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Basic information technology proficiency
  • Full, valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence
  • Flexibility for rotational shifts and working hours

It would be great if you also have

  • ALS Provider / Instructor certification
  • Non-medical Prescriber qualifications
  • Experience in education / training delivery
  • Experience with critically ill patients
  • Leadership experience at Charge Nurse / Senior Charge Nurse Level
  • Contribution to service planning and redesign projects
  • Understanding of clinical management pathways
  • Quality improvement / research and audit knowledge
  • Advanced Assessment skills
  • Application of advanced clinical skills
  • Autonomous working abilities

Contract type

Fixed Term for 1 year

Full-time

37 hours

This is a fixed-term post for 1 year. If you are an existing NHS Lanarkshire staff member applying for a post with temporary funding, this will be treated as a secondment, requiring prior written agreement from your line manager.

Location and Working Pattern

This position is located within University Hospital Monklands. The specific working pattern will be provided by the hiring manager.
