  • Vacancy ID We are currently recruiting for a temporasry Conference and Events Assistant to work on site at one of our centrally based departments.
The work would be on an ad hoc zero style hours contract, the hours are variable and could include some weekend and evening work when required- The assignment would start ASAP and last for approx 12 weeks**Duties:

1 Building access, use and safety

In line with agreed times and procedures you will be responsible for ensuring clients can access the building as required and supported in their use and understanding of it.

You will be trained in first-aid and evacuation procedures, and would assist with the safe evacuation of visitors in the event of an emergency, and must comply with health and safety regulations.


2. Acting as first point of call on the day of each Event

As instructed by the Conference and Events Managers you will be the first point of call for clients while they are in the building and will proactively look to help them and anticipate their needs.


3. Supporting the catering team

Many evening and weekend events require catering and this role requires liaising closely with the catering team, ensuring that the catering is ready on time, correctly labelled and responding to any questions clients may have.


4. Providing basic audio-visual (AV) support
The AV system in the building is very easy to use and the usual issues are easy to fix.

You would be trained to ensure you could provide that support and assess if the system is working for the client.


5. Providing consistently high-level customer service
This assignment is an integral part of the team.

Indeed you are the team while on duty and as such your role is to not only ensure the client is satisfied but to anticipate where things might be done to help them further.

This is an essential aspect of the role and part of what makes it rewarding.

  • Experience of supporting events (or equivalent) in some capacity.
  • Evidence of communicating and building relationships with a wide range of people/clients.
  • Evidence of delivering excellent customer service.
  • Willingness to learn administrative processes and basic IT and AV systems.
  • Willingness to work flexibly and independently, both in workinghours and in a ccordance with quickly changing demands and priorities.
  • TSS workers accrue holiday pay that is equivalent to 38 days per year, this means you accrue a whopping 17.1% in holiday pay for the hours that you work for us.
