Main responsibilities:

  • Perform prestart vehicle(s) checks and report all symptoms of defects, both verbally and in writing, throughout your working day,
  • Adhere to all aspects of Road Transport Working Time Directive, including keeping proper and accurate records.
  • Adhere to all aspects governed through the relevant ADR and CDG/TPE regulations.
  • Maintain a vigilant and safe approach whilst operating any Acumen Waste Services' vehicle(s) and report any safety concerns through the HIT process/Line manager.
  • Comply to company policies and procedures towards driving standards and road risk.
  • Administer paperwork, including all legal documents, ensuring completion and accuracy.
  • Communicate all/any discrepancies regarding consigning/packaging/marking & labelling/loading & unloading.
  • Practice good housekeeping, especially towards load security, load distribution and vehicle/trailer (internal and external) cleanliness.
  • Maintain your internal training commitments.
  • Assists and, where applicable, resolves issues with appropriate solutions.
  • To undertake any other duties related to the position's purpose and focus which may be delegated to you.

Competencies/Key Skills:

  • Possess a valid Driver licence (Minimum Category B)
  • Possess valid ADR (packages essential in all classes) qualifications.
  • Understanding of Transport and Fleet 'Best Practice'
  • Concise and vigilant
  • Strong Communicator.
  • Customer Service (face to face) skills
  • Demonstrate proactiveness and initiative.
