  • Residential Home Cook**We are looking for a passionate cook for our residential home, Experience is desired but not essential as long as you can cook

Duties will include

  • Preparing healthy and wellbalanced diet for all residents
- complying with all dietary needs for residents i.e. diabetics vegetarian etc as well as offering choice to all residents.
- monitoring kitchen stock
- maintain high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen

About You

Qualities were looking for:

  • Good communicator and can lead by example
  • Good record keeping skills documenting information in accordance with guidelines
  • Focused
  • Genuine passion for food and for our resident's dietary requirement

What we need from you:

  • To oversee the smooth running of the kitchen
  • Ensure kitchen protocol is maintained
  • Ensure safe food handling is adhered to ie frozen foods are defrosted before using
  • To ensure all meals are ready at the appropriate time
  • To offer and prepare, if necessary, at least three main options for lunch each day ensuring that fresh vegetables are used
  • To delegate appropriate work to the kitchen assistant as required and monitor that this has been carried out to a satisfactory level
  • To ensure cleaning completed as per rota
  • Prepare fresh cakes for afternoon tea/special occasions
  • Adhere to COSH policies, procedures and documentation requirements
  • Complete relevant inhouse training in accordance with job description
  • Completion of satisfactory DBS checks
