We are looking for an Export Control Specialist to join our team in the UK.

Have you got experience in export control within highly regulated industry, ideally pharmaceuticals?


If so, we have a great opportunity for an Export Control Specialist to look after our UK sites and help all our businesses export products to clients all over the world seamlessly and in line with all regulatory, compliance and legal requirements.

You will be part of a small UK team and will be working closely with colleagues nationally and internationally in operations, supply chain, manufacturing, legal, compliance and other departments as well as regulatory bodies and external clients.

This position is based at our Royston site with hybrid working available.

What you will accomplish together with us:

  • Implementing and maintaining export controls and sanctions program elements for all our subsidiaries in the UK
  • Supporting the local subsidiaries with regards to export control classification of Sartorius hardware, software, and technologies
  • Including helping product and export teams identify products that either fall under, or could be considered to fall under, Dual Use restrictions.
  • Ensuring accurate IT relevant export control master data for all sites
  • Advising the business regarding new business implementation or business model evaluation from a trade compliance point of view
  • Establishing and maintaining accurate and complete export and compliance records in accordance with government regulations
  • Overseeing company compliance with export compliance laws and regulations under EU, US, IN and national export control laws | regulations relating to Sartorius products as well as supporting the global Export Control Team
  • Maintaining knowledge of the export and reexport control and sanctions regulations globally and in countries Sartorius operates in
  • Interacting professionally with government regulators and agencies
  • Conducting compliance assessments and training
  • Providing advice to all UK sites regarding export control questions

  • Up to date knowledge of global export controls and regulations
  • Strong customs knowledge to be able to support on such topic as and when needed
  • Experience in dealing with regulators and government agencies
  • Capable of working with stakeholders at all levels internationally
  • Experience in training and coaching
  • Strong communication skills
