This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the operational and commercial achievements of a dynamic SME Transport and Storage company.

  • The role is based in the Midlands, part of a nationwide network, serving clients with dedicated Transport, spot haulage, and palletised distribution.
  • Ensuring operational best practices and efficiencies is crucial to provide outstanding customer service while optimizing Transport fleet management through effective routing and asset utilization.
  • Besides overseeing operations, you will handle essential functions like Finance, HR, and Health and Safety.
  • Spotting new business development chances from existing customers and supporting the sales team in Transport and Warehousing will also be part of your responsibilities.

The ideal candidate should be a skilled Transport Operations professional, preferably with experience in general haulage and pallet network environments.

Additional requirements:
  • Experience in an SME Transport and Logistics firm with financial and P&L responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success in managing profitable and efficient transport operations.
  • Proficiency in Transport-related IT systems and planning tools.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Transport regulations, compliance, and Health and Safety standards.
