About the School and Role:


We are currently recruiting for a special needs school located in Shrewsbury, who are looking for a learning support assistant to work with young children.


You will be working with children that possess a wide range of needs including, SLD, ASD, ADHD, and Complex Needs.

Therefore, experience working with these needs is vital so that the children's needs are recognised and catered for.

Any additional qualifications, such as, PECS, Team teach, or Makaton would be useful but not necessary.

This is a full-time on-going position with the hope that this teaching assistant stays on in the school in a permanent position.

An up-to-date enhanced DBS will be needed for this role or a subscription to the DBS update service. This can be done for you if you do not have a current one.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background
  • SEND schoolbased Experience
  • ASD, SLD, PMLD, SPLD, Down Syndrome experience
  • Child and Adult Workforce DBS
  • Available Immediately
  • Level 1 safeguarding certificate
  • Recent schoolbased references


Valid Photo ID
  • Driving Licence or passport
  • Full DBS registered on the update service
