About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients on the Acute Medical floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and assistance to Registered Nurses in delivering patient care, including maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Assist patients with their hygiene and elimination needs, as well as provide support with pressure area care and nutritional and hydration needs.
  • Accurately record patient observations and report any abnormalities to Registered Nurses.
  • Escort patients to and from other wards and departments, using safe manual handling techniques.
  • Provide clinical administrative support to Registered Nurses, as needed.

Requirements
  • GCSE in Maths and English grade 9-4 (A-C) or Functional Skills L1 or higher.
  • Experience of care, either formal or informal, for a family or friend.
  • Previous hospital experience is desirable, but not essential.
