We operate seven days a week and need someone who is willing to take on evening and weekend shifts.

Our department partners with the University of Cumbria for their MSc Ultrasound program, offering opportunities to train and guide student sonographers.


  • Main Duties of the Job

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting and interpreting abdominal, pelvic, vascular, and obstetric ultrasound scans independently. You will rotate across all examination areas, including community sites, with the opportunity to work in various locations.

  • The Countess of Chester Hospital: 438 general and acute beds
  • Ellesmere Port Hospital: 56 beds for rehabilitation and outpatient care
  • Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: hub for community services for the rural population

Our recruitment processes focus on competence and values as outlined in the Person Specification. Please note, applicants must cover the cost of their DBS check, which will be deducted from their salary post-hiring. The DBS application fee ranges from £23 to £43, to be paid over the initial three months of employment. Enrolling in the DBS Update Service, which incurs an annual £13 fee, is highly recommended.
