Who Our Opportunity is for: We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person with sincere interest in joining a dynamic and friendly radiology team. You will be expected to work within a very diverse Radiology department, based across multiple sites including, Countess of Chester, Ellesmere Port Hospitals and community ultrasound hubs. You will learn a broad set of skills to assist radiographers, sonographers and radiologists in all areas of the department to ensure the efficient running of a very busy department. You must be of a very caring disposition to support every patient within the radiology department to ensure they have the most rewarding experience whilst in our care. Ensure patient confidentiality and dignity are preserved at all times. Maintain an understanding of manual handling, infection control, Health and Safety and Fire regulations. To carry out clerical and administrative duties within the department. Ensure a neat appearance at all time, wearing appropriate staff uniform and protective clothing suitable to the task as per departmental policy. You will be encouraged to attend staff meetings. Be prepared to share extra working opportunities during evenings and weekend shifts.

Main duties of the job

Under supervision and direction of the Registered Radiographer/Nurse assist in delivery of the safe high quality care to patients in all areas of Radiology. To carry out clerical and administrative duties in the department as required.

At the direction of the Registered Radiographer/Nurse participate fully in the delivery of planned care in all areas of the department including evening and weekend sessions. Assist with general procedures, preparing trolleys for sterile procedures under the supervision of the registered Radiographer/Nurse, responsible for cleaning or disposing of equipment following procedures Assist in all areas of the department under the supervision of the registered Radiographer/ Nurse or the Senior support workers. This includes completing safety screening of patients and staff in MRI, supervising the CT waiting area to ensure patients are prepared correctly filling the infusion pump and completing the initial check of the contrast agent. Report any concerns regarding patient care All employees have a responsibility for their own health and wellbeing, to inform their manager and seektimely support via the Trust's Occupational Health and Wellbeing department All employees of the Trust have the responsibility to comply with the Trusts infection prevention and Control policies and procedures at all times. Strict adherence to hand hygiene is essential

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Its services are provided from three locations:

The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 438 general and acute beds Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.

The Trust employs over 6258 staff (headcount) which includes temporary bank staff and provides acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000. This includes 357,000 residents in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire which has a population of approximately 50,000.

The Trust is a busy district general hospital and in 2022/2023, there were more than 503,342 patient attendances (inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic) ranging from a simple outpatient appointment to major cancer surgery. This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year when there were 494,387 patient attendances.
