We are looking for an efficient, conscientious, well-motivated and enthusiastic Admissions Officer with the skills to provide dedicated clerical support to both the clinical and administrative teams. In this role, you will assist clinical staff in delivering an effective booking service to our patients.

This post is based within the Urology Department at Ipswich Hospital.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will provide efficient and pro-active secretarial and admin support to the large team of busy cancer nurse specialists and other team members.

You will be the first contact for patients and queries on behalf of the cancer nurse specialists and Department. You will work as part of a team, supporting

other team members and covering when required.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Minimum 5 GSCEs and graded C or above in Maths and English NVQ level 3 in administration/secretarial or equivalent experience

Experience

Proven previous experience as an administrator

Desirable criteria

NHS Experience Experience within relevant work area Experience of working with members of the public Supervision/co-ordination of other team members

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to deal with complex or sensitive information.
