SEN Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

We are currently in search of a SEN Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a Primary school in Beaconsfield.

  • Support teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with varying abilities.
  • Lead small group interventions and offer one-to-one assistance to pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning requirements.
  • Assist in classroom and behavior management, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to assessing and monitoring pupil progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other professionals to create and implement personalized education plans (IEPs) for SEN pupils.
  • Utilize appropriate technology and resources to enrich teaching and learning experiences.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (STLS), or similar.
  • Prior experience as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or in a comparable role within a primary or secondary school environment.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to establish positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
  • Thorough understanding of the national curriculum and effective strategies for supporting pupils with SEN.
  • Proficient in utilizing relevant ICT tools and software for the role.
