Position Overview:

Responsibilities:

Individual Support:

  • Engage with individuals in need, offering empathetic and nonjudgmental support.
  • Provide oneonone mentoring sessions to address specific mental health challenges.

Peer-Led Services:

  • Incorporate lived experiences into mentorship to create a relatable and understanding environment.
  • Facilitate peerled support groups and activities to promote community and connection.

Mental Health Advocacy:

  • Act as an advocate for mental health awareness, working to eliminate stigma and raise awareness in the community.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement initiatives that align with our mission statement.

Training and Education:

  • Stay updated on mental health best practices and participate in ongoing training.
  • Provide educational sessions to individuals and the community on mental health, resilience, and coping strategies.

Community Engagement:

  • Actively participate in community events to promote mental health and suicide prevention.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with local organisations and stakeholders.

Record Keeping and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of mentorship sessions and community engagements.
  • Provide regular reports on the impact of mentorship activities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in mental health support, mentoring, lived experience.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues and recovery principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
