JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Lead the design, delivery, and development of Kingston University ISC Physics, Maths and Computing modules.
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons as required by the ISC, teaching up to 25 hours per week.
  • Set, supervise and mark final examinations, as well as formative and summative assessments.
  • Assess, record and report on the progress and attainment of students, and communicate this to students via timely feedback and termly reports.
  • Implement intervention strategies, as appropriate, to support students' ongoing learning throughout their programme of studies.
  • Develop and regularly update schemes of work and teaching materials, including learning materials for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
  • Encourage as much use as possible of the university libraries and other learning resources.
  • Invigilate and undertake administration associated with module examinations throughout the academic year.
  • Track student academic journey and identify and implement appropriate intervention strategies to support ongoing learning.
  • Implement quality assurance procedures at module and teaching session level and contribute to the annual monitoring and review of courses, including writing Module Enhancement Plans.

  • Possession of a formal teaching qualification (Highly desirable)
  • An outstanding teacher with a proven track record of achieving the highest standards and improving students' academic outcomes
  • Working with international students who are nonnative speakers of English (Desirable).
