Finance Director Opportunity at a Leading Real Estate Investment Company
Our client, a distinguished real estate investment firm with £2bn in assets under management, is in search of a proactive and motivated Finance Director to oversee the daily financial operations. This role requires you to be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong background in property development.
Responsibilities
- Prepare cash flow forecasts by consolidating site appraisals, development cash flow forecasts, and EBITDA/NOI for operational assets.
- Collaborate with the development, investment, and operations teams to ensure the business plan remains current.
- Analyze complex financial data to deliver accurate and timely performance reports to senior stakeholders.
- Engage with development finance lenders and banks to provide necessary information and meet reporting requirements.
- Supervise management accounts for all special purpose vehicles (SPVs).
- Lead the year-end audit process and maintain monthly VAT and CIS returns.
- Drive process efficiency and system optimization initiatives.
- Manage cash control, debt, tax implications, and covenant compliance effectively.
- Implement and maintain robust risk controls.
- Revise operational processes for improved efficiency and establish effective reporting policies.
- Prepare annual financial statements ensuring adherence to best financial practices.
- Assist with technical accounting matters and special projects as needed.
- Provide monthly reports on key metrics to the board, including P&L statements and development costs.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a preference for Top 10 accounting firm training.
- Relevant experience in property development or real estate investments.
- Ability to lead a small finance team effectively.
- Demonstrated work ethic and thrive in an entrepreneurial setting.
