The role of the matron is to provide performance and operational oversight, displaying role modelling behaviours and trust values. Work collaboratively within the multi disciplinary team, to contribute to the formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Divisions strategic and operational plan concerning, staff competency, staff objectives and targets, and quality improvement

The role will include line management of Band 7 Midwifery staff including ward mangers, team leaders, specialist midwives and shift co-coordinators, being a supportive and a visible leader.
