The Team:

This role sits in the S&P Global Commodity Insights Product Management organization within the Market Reporting & Trading Solutions business line.

The role works closely with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensuresdelivery of products that meet customer needs and aligns with business strategy.

As a member of the team, you will play a substantial role in building and maintaining a digital, customer-centric, cross-commodity information offerings for the global News, MarketData, and Risk portfolios.

In this role you will work with different business functions such as sales, content, technology, and marketing to develop and execute the business roadmap to deliver value and solve problems for customers.

In addition to this, youwill collaborate with other business lines to ensure there is strategic alignment across pricing and analytics.


The Impact:

The solutions for News & Market Data include pricing, market insight, forward curves, and news provided over a variety of digital and machine delivery mechanisms.

The Product Manager will play a substantial role in developing a coherent productoffering around these features, delivering to clients through effective go-to-market, and driving revenue growth.

Working within the Product organization provides opportunity to engage with and gain exposure to all areas of the business, liaising daily with global cross-functional teams.


Responsibilities

You are responsible for developing and executing on product strategies, ultimately driving revenue by meeting the needs of current clients, displacing competitors, penetrating new markets, solving new problems, or selling to new client bases.

In addition, thisrole will work closely with the Cross-Commodity News & Market Data Lead and respective content and business stakeholders to identify additional strategic opportunities and build them into the roadmap.

- Lead the development and execution of the roadmap for the News, Market Data and Risk products and solutions, present future enhancements to senior management and advocate for resources

  • Create, maintain, and prioritize a product development backlog according to customer demand, business value or ROI
  • Attend regular meetings with technology teams to discuss progress and take the appropriate actions to drive delivery
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers to build a deep understanding of their needs, workflows, and problems.
  • Define success metrics and analyze customer feedback and product usage to inform business decisions and prioritize the product roadmap
  • Leverage usage data and established KPIs to report on business performance across commodities, content types, and sellable packages
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, Channel Partners, and customers to enhance the News, Market Data, and Risk products over Channel Partner platforms
  • Develop and execute on gotomarket plans for product launches and enhancements
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Product organization and crossfunctional stakeholders within the S&P Global business in a highly matrixed environment
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance and standardize reference data to further embed Market Data in customer workflows
  • Integrate and enhance News offering across Commodity Insights digital platform and over Channel Partners for premium customers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong commercial mindset, with the ability to work with many stakeholders and take product from concept to reality
  • Experience as a product manager or product owner, preferably at a commodity information, or financial technology company
  • Proven track record of creating product roadmaps and executing against these roadmaps incrementally and sustainably
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and have very strong presentation skills
  • Ability to independently manage workload in a fast paced, goal oriented, dynamic and global environment.
  • Be a quick learner, showing aptitude to quickly pick up the fundamentals of commodity markets, customerfacing solutions, and company processes
  • Experience influencing without authority and managing a diverse sets of stakeholders
  • Strong customer mindset with demonstrated ability to engage directly and honestly with customers and deliver positive experience by creating a partnership mentality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing software following Agile Scrum practices
  • Experience in or knowledge of commodity markets, tradeflows and supply chains. Knowledge of Oil, Petrochemicals, Energy Transition, LNG, Agriculture and/or Shipping markets is an advantage.
  • High technical literacy with realtime, digital, and machine delivery platforms and toolsets
  • Knowledge of front office trading, trade support, and risk management roles, as well as understanding of typical workflows at global commodity trading organizations
  • Experience working in relevant environments, such as commodity trading (front desk), market analysis (decision support), analytical tool development and management
