What you'll be doing
Through specialist knowledge of contract management, identify , manage and deliver competitive tendering strategies for a specific portfolio of contracts to support the business' commercial and performance objectives , focusing on the higher value and/or more operationally complex contracts such as fleet leasing (£65m), fleet maintenance (£12m), capital delivery (£50m) and/or FM (£20m).
Responsible for ensuring the alignment of the UK service delivery model with the global Iberdrola model and ScottishPower's business objectives .
Working closely with the Procurement team and GSUK Operations teams to prepare detailed contract scope for invitations to tender for designated contracts.
What you'll bring
Open, inclusive, and approachable style of delivery; effectively collaborating across GSUK and SP corporate functions and mentoring Contracts Managers
Educated to degree level in Financial, Procurement, Law, Quantity Surveying or Contract Management discipline or equivalent experience.
Demonstrable commercial contract and negotiation skills and experience of closing high value / high risk REVEX and CAPEX contracts in a project / operational environment with multiple interfaces and stakeholders
Demonstrable experience of negotiating contractual terms and conditions, including indemnities and warranties, and comfortable defending SP's position
Detailed understanding of contract management processes with experience of commercial contracts in a large multidiscipline organisation
Ability to work through technical/commercial/legal issues, formulate solutions and ensure appropriate courses of action are taken.
Experience in completion of tender specification documents and proven experience in tender assessment processes for large scale commercial contracts with values in excess of £4 million.
Ability to assess, prioritise and confidently make the right decisions in a dynamic service environment whilst anticipating issues and putting in place effective strategies to manage these.
Strong self-performance management, tenacity, and ability to work independently, be proactive, and take responsibility for matters, while also responding to competing demands and referring to the Lead Contracts Manager where appropriate .
Experience of managing multiple contractual service budgets (CAPEX and REVEX).
Ability to determine when optimum commercial terms have been achieved during a negotiation process with justification for recommending such terms for approval.
Ability to think strategically to ensure commercial guidance supports immediate and long term strategic objectives
