As a Contract Manager, you will play a critical role in leading the development and implementation of contract strategies to maximize contract value and mitigate risk.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement contract strategies to support business objectives, including identifying and managing competitive tendering strategies for a specific portfolio of contracts.
  2. Work closely with the Procurement team and GSUK Operations teams to prepare detailed contract scope for invitations to tender for designated contracts.
  3. Evaluate the technical and commercial aspects of tender submissions and make recommendations to Senior Contracts Manager, Head of Contracts, Operations Team, and Procurement team.
  4. Lead the negotiation of commercial aspects of designated contracts to deliver commercial solutions that balance GSUK's objectives.
  5. Lead audits, assessment of designated suppliers and contractors to support ongoing development of contract strategies to ensure business commercial success and mitigation of associated risks.
  6. Lead commercial meetings with Contractors to manage commercial risks, monitor claims made by either party through detailed contract review and effective supplier relationship management.
  7. Support the Senior Contracts Manager to deliver GSUK's annual Opex and Capex budgets for the operational portfolio.
Requirements
  1. Open, inclusive, and approachable style of delivery; effectively collaborating across GSUK and SP corporate functions.
  2. Educated to degree level in Financial, Procurement, Law, Quantity Surveying or Contract Management discipline or equivalent experience.
  3. Demonstrable commercial contract and negotiation skills and experience of closing high value REVEX and CAPEX contracts in a project/operational environment.
  4. Detailed understanding of contract management processes with experience of commercial contracts in a large multidiscipline organisation.
  5. Ability to work through technical/commercial/legal issues, formulate solutions and ensure appropriate courses of action are taken.
  6. Experience in completion of tender specification documents and proven experience in tender assessment processes for large scale commercial contracts with values in excess of £4 million.
  7. Ability to assess, prioritise and confidently make the right decisions in a dynamic service environment whilst anticipating issues and putting in place effective strategies to manage these.
  8. Strong self-performance management and ability to work independently, be proactive, and take responsibility for matters, while also responding to competing demands and referring to the Senior Contracts Manager where appropriate.
  9. Experience of managing multiple contractual service budgets (CAPEX and REVEX).
  10. Ability to determine when optimum commercial terms have been achieved during a negotiation process with justification for recommending such terms for approval.
  11. Ability to think strategically to ensure commercial guidance supports immediate and long term strategic objectives.
