We are seeking an exceptional candidate to take on the role of Learning and Development Advisor within the Learning and Development Department.

This post presents a new and exciting opportunity to work closely with the Mental Capacity Act Team and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Co-ordinator to re-establish and improve workforce engagement with new and existing training programmes.

Taking full responsibility for promoting and monitoring attendance, the successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisation skills, be creative and solutions focussed.

Main duties of the job

This role will sit within Learning and Development and help facilitate L&D initiatives whilst primarily supporting the Mental Capacity Act Team and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Co-ordinator to re-establish and improve workforce engagement.

The post-holder will be responsible for providing the communication and co-ordination necessary to support the identification of and access to development opportunities for our population as well as venue locations.

Liaise with Health board colleagues to create and maintain a record of training and development opportunities, defining pathways for progression.

To produce material in relation to advertising and marketing of staff training Health Board wide. Be responsible for ensuring departmental managers receive training and development data, within established procedures and to provide information and advice to managers and staff where appropriate, regarding attendance requirements at training courses.

To be responsible for accurate data entry and record keeping in line with good practice and service requirements. To work closely with colleagues in Learning & Development to support the implementation and maintenance of effective booking and record keeping systems for staff training and development programmes.

To work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and regularly liaise with internal and external training providers to ensure effective use of physical and financial resources in the delivery of training.

Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;

Seven community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron, Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire;

48 general practices (four of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;

Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Educated to NVQ level 4 diploma or; equivalent experience of producing documents at a level 4 standard Thorough understanding of a range of PC software ( Microsoft Office, Email, Intranet) Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation and an ability to communicate progress against outcomes
