The role of Head of Business Intelligence


This is a brand new role that will work to establish a UK BI team, building a team of expert consultants and growing a distinct revenue stream.

You must be willing to get involved in all aspects of Business Intelligence in the early stages of a growth business line i.e.


Technical Hands-on Delivery Skills and Sales Life Cycle.

  • Structure and mature Business Intelligence offerings, both in support of ERP implementations and as standalone services
  • Act as a Business Intelligence champion across Columbus, driving best practice, increasing global collaboration, adoption of business intelligence offerings and maturation of Columbus's Business Intelligence frameworks and products
  • Contribute to strategy and planning of the Data & Analytics UK team
  • Provide presales support on ERP sales and other large scale technology implementations
  • Lead independent Business Intelligence sales
  • Grow a team of onshore Business Intelligence consultants to serve UK demand, including responsibility for their performance and career development
  • Ensure appropriate resourcing for business intelligence projects

Travel and Hybrid Working
We have an environment that gives you the flexibility to achieve an effective work-life balance. To maintain our collaborative approach, all team meetings take place face-to-face in our offices wherever possible.


We continue to offer our customers onsite consultancy time if requested, so flexibility around UK travel and overnight stays is expected dependent on the project requirements.

Onsite time is planned ahead of time, within 2 week blocks so you know well in advance where you will be working.


We ask that those in customer-facing roles to aim to come to the office a couple of times a month to recharge and fill up on our Columbus energy and for those in our critical internally facing teams, we like to see them in the office at least twice a week.

About You (The Essentials)

  • UK resident for at least 5 years to qualify for Security Clearance if required.
  • Experience of leading teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Presentation of work and technical concepts to both business and technical stakeholders
  • Experience of leading and supporting presales and Business Development sales is a must
  • Use of common Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau, Azure
  • Building of data platforms for analytics
  • Understanding of data architecture and data processing used to feed Business Intelligence tools
  • Curious, looking to challenge the status quo and improve
  • Collaborates well with both internal and external colleagues
  • Committed to personal development and becoming a Trusted Advisor in your field.
