What you'll be doing:

  • Create actionable, and inspirational insights that help clients build strategic plans.
  • Representing the insight team at events and being an ambassador for the Lumina brand and our insights externally.
  • Lead and shape our retail product suite - advising Senior Leadership Team on opportunities for innovation.
  • Manage and oversee client or syndicated projects from proposal stage, through to client management and delivery. Ensure high standards are met and projects are delivered on time, managing both internal and external expectations.
  • Plan and manage team capacity, matching tasks to capacity, availability, capability, and areas of expertise.
  • Own the project workflow schedule to ensure the wider business is kept up to date.
  • Review, feedback, and quality control outputs created by more junior members of the team.
  • Line management and coaching Insight Managers and Senior Insight Managers to develop their skills and careers.
  • Attend events that keep you at the top of your field on an ad hoc basis, as well as presenting our quarterly updates at our Food and Convenience Strategy Forums alongside the other members of the Insight team.

Support and lead the team to:

  • Be accountable for creating insight with quality interpretation of data and research.
  • Extract compelling and actionable recommendations from data, making use of storytelling principles and expert data visualisation.
  • Research and explore the food and drink markets and trends.
  • Work alongside the client sales team to ensure content delivery is consistent across the business, from insight creation to end delivery, staying close to client feedback and changing demands.
  • Work alongside the marketing content and digital marketing team to support the communication of our insight to enhance the credibility of the Lumina brand and deliver against key commercial targets.
  • Working alongside the Research and data team to shape research programs and generate quality objectives that fulfil the brief.
  • Ensure requests are delivered with quality, accuracy and to time.

What you'll need:

  • Proven results in a similar insight role e.g. agency side, FMCG manufacturer, retailer, or foodservice operator background.
  • Expertise in retail markets including Food and Drink - Grocery, Retail and Convenience markets.
  • Confident in explaining and presenting data and insight.
  • Previous experience in line management.
  • A solid understanding of research methodologies and data analysis.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to work independently and manage own workload.
  • Data literate and comfortable using a data visualisation and analysis platform.
  • Excellent data visualisation and an eye for design.
  • Advanced analytics and statistics experience is desirable.
