Main duties of the job

A year ago we helped bring radiotherapy treatment to Swindon thanks to the £3m raised by our Trust charity, and the Radiotherapy Centre is also celebrating its first anniversary. Our £16m Urgent Treatment Centre is now a year old and has gone from strength-to-strength delivering care to local people.

Construction on our £31m programme to create a new Integrated Front Door is well underway and due for completion this summer.

But it's not just about new buildings.

18 months ago we launched Improving Together, our approach to continuous improvement, helping give us the skills to deliver change for our service users.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The Post holder is a key member of the Executive team and the Trust Board, responsible for the clinical leadership of all nursing, midwifery, allied health professionals. The Chief Nurse works jointly with the Chief Medical Officer in the governance, patient safety, and patient experience risk agenda. The post holder leads on the CQC & safeguarding agenda.

The post holder will contribute to the developing and implementation of corporate strategies, policies and business plans, including the development of a culture of high-quality personalised care.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Registered Nurse with current registration with NMC and academic qualification to Masters level (or equivalent) Evidence of continuous professional development

Desirable

Additional post graduate leadership or management qualification. Registered Midwife

Experience

Essential

Experience of working within the NHS at a senior leadership level in an acute setting Significant management and professional experience. Evidence of working across a range of organisations to achieve significant change Experience of strategic planning and development. Evidence of actively leading and participating in clinical governance activity

Desirable

Experience at a senior level in a community care environment Experience / knowledge of Foundation Trusts. Experience of working at Board level.
