Unsung Hero of Innovation needed

Cambridge Enterprise isn't your typical company. We're the bridge between brilliant University of Cambridge research and the world. But world-changing ideas need a steady hand to turn into reality. That's where you come in.

As our Post Deal Coordinator, you'll be the guardian angel of our agreements. You'll ensure all parties involved uphold their side of the bargain, from global players to groundbreaking startups.

Why you will love this role:
  • Opportunity: Dive into the heart of technology transfer and commercialisation, supporting our Post Deal Manager and Technology Development and Licensing team.
  • Be the master of agreements: You'll monitor agreements making sure everyone meets their obligations. Think chasing reports, ensuring payments are on track, and keeping meticulous records.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a supportive team, including experts across Cambridge Enterprise.
  • Become a detective of discrepancies: For external parties, you'll be the friendly face ensuring they comply with the agreement. This might involve things like checking reports for accuracy, or working with our finance team to chase invoices.
  • Growth: Expand your skills and knowledge in a variety of areas, from patent administration to agreement management.
  • Ensure we stay squeaky clean: For Cambridge Enterprise obligations, you'll work with our team to deliver accurate reports to University research funders. Think data analysis, record keeping and making sure everything is above board.
  • See cutting-edge tech take flight: You'll be at the heart of innovation, witnessing the birth of world-changing technologies.
  • Make a real impact: Your meticulous work ensures groundbreaking ideas become life changing technology.
What we're looking for:
  • Attention to Detail: Your admin skills are second to none. You ensure that every detail is accurately recorded, and every obligation is fulfilled to the letter.
  • Customer Focus: You understand the importance of timely and accurate information. You respond to requests promptly, providing support to both internal staff and external partners.
  • Team Player Mentality: Collaboration is key. You work effectively with colleagues, adapting to their preferences and providing cover when needed.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Challenges don't faze you. You proactively tackle issues, using your initiative to find solutions and keep operations running smoothly.
  • Tech Savvy: You're comfortable with electronic systems and adept at customising reports to meet the team's needs.
Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of the patenting system or experience in patent and/or licence administration.
  • Experience in legal contract management.

These are our ideal requirements, but we know some people are less likely to apply for the role unless they are 100% qualified. At Cambridge Enterprise, we promote a diverse, inclusive and empowering culture, so please apply if you meet the majority of the job requirements.

If you have any questions about the interview process, or if you need any reasonable adjustments, please don't hesitate to contact Ian, Gemma or Michelle at
