ENTANGLED:

Entangled materialities and new global histories from southern Africa led by Principal Investigator Dr Abigail Moffett (University of Cambridge).

ENTANGLED is a five year interdisciplinary project combining scientific analyses of a range of archaeological materials with historical and ethnographic research to address connections between southern Africa and the Indian Ocean World during the Global Middle Ages CE).

The core team (the PI, two post-doctoral researchers, one doctoral student and the project coordinator) will be based at the University of Cambridge.


The role holder will ensure that the project is administered according to the terms and conditions of the sponsor and in accordance with Research Office and University regulations; they will assist the PI and project team with all aspects of project management, thereby enabling the project to reach its full potential.

The role is at 0.4 FTE (equivalent to two days per week), with specifics of working hours to be agreed.

The post holder will have several main areas of work.

They will:
- provide general administrative and logístical support to the ENTANGLED research
- project, including travel, HR and Health and Safety support
- coordinate project meetings and events
- manage the project's finances
- maintain project records, bibliography and archives
- provide both internal and external communication support, including maintaining a project website

The role holder may be occasionally asked to undertake other duties in keeping with their post category and grade.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 8th of January 2029.

The role is at 0.4 FTE (two days per week).

Starting date: 13/05/2024 or as soon as possibly thereafter.

The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
