Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced
Healthcare Assistant to support a 21-year-old male with Advanced Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy & Severe Scoliosis.

He has Non-Invasive Ventilation, is fed by NG tube and able to drink liquids via straw. He has no upper or lower body strength or any dexterity in his hands and has bilateral foot drop. He requires full continence care.


Polish is his first language; however, he has lived in the UK since he was 5 and his English is very good.

He is able to communicate his needs.

This young man enjoys watching movies and TV and going out in his wheelchair during the summer. He also loves Lego He lives at home with his mum and their Cat and Dog in Bridgwater. The downstairs living room has been adapted to his bedroom.

You will be working 2:1

You need to be an experienced carer. It is not essential that you have specific experience working with complex needs as you will get all the training you need. You will be trained and supported by our outstanding team of specialists and nurses. This will involve training and shadowing until one of our nurses is happy to sign you off as competent.
Training is paid for.

Pay Rates

50 p/hr Monday - Friday:

05 p/hr Saturday - Sunday:

£19.05 p/hr Bank Holidays

Shifts:

12pm - 6pm, Monday, Wednesday & Friday Available


It's vital that we have staff consistency and so you will be required to pick up a minimum number of shifts.

You will be able to pick up more shifts each week if you would like to. Weekday shifts and Weekend shifts are available.

Flexibility would be appreciated, but we are willing to consider your personal circumstances if there are days/times you are unable to work.


Full mileage paid from home to this location in Bridgwater up to a maximum of 20 miles each way.

Permanent and bank contracts available. You can work full or part time.


You must be patient and caring and able to work on your own while providing care as part of a team.
