About the role:


It's an exciting time to join the team here at AXA Health, with significant investment planned in all UK&I businesses to transform, deliver new digital services to our customers and streamline and automate our business processes.

To help us build our capability and accelerate the delivery of our strategic programmes, we're looking for several talented individuals to join this growing team on initial 12-month fixed term contracts.


Reporting into the Head of Transformation and Change Enablement you will lead large programs/portfolios of work using agile, hybrid and waterfall delivery methodologies.

We're looking for excellent leaders with substantial experience in matrix managing staff of different disciplines to produce high quality results.

You'll develop efficient strategies to ensure that all program/portfolio initiatives deliver the required outcomes at pace, on time and within budget.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home or at one of our office locations.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading programs or portfolios of work and their interdependencies across the wider investment portfolio
  • Overseeing the delivery of new products or services to ensure they meet requirements and are to the appropriate quality, on time and within budget
  • Managing third party contributions
  • Collaborating with practice communities to develop and conduct agileoriented training
  • Managing the production and reporting of key metrics
  • Evaluating the performance and capability of teams within program/portfolio
  • Resolving and reporting any risks, dependencies and other issues that may arise
  • Facilitating the use of SAFe and agile release train processes
  • Managing the programme or portfolio's budget, monitoring the expenditures and costs against benefits that are realised as the initiative progresses
  • Supporting agile ceremonies where required
This role requires no direct management but will include significant matrix management from within the program/portfolio.

About you:

  • Significant experience as a Program Manager / Release Train Engineer / Agile Coach
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Thorough understanding of agile methodologies
  • Practical problem solving and strategic thinking skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work successfully with demanding schedule constraints and technically challenging programs
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment while maintaining view on the strategic direction
  • Excellent stakeholder management


As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
