Position Description
Our Infrastructure IT Specialist role is responsible for providing support directly to end
users. The role will support the installation, implementation, operation, maintenance, and
support of all information systems, related processes & associated technology of the business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide support, conduct precheck and preventative maintenance tasks according to
- Taking ownership of support requests through to resolution, using remote management
- Work functionally on, incident, problem, knowledge and change management processes
- Ensuring all support requests are successfully and accurately identified, categorised,
- Configuring and deploying user IT assets, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices
- Maintaining the asset inventory to ensure all equipment and software is accounted for.
- Maintains daily user support following ITS processes using the Global Volvo IT Systems
- Installs, repairs, and provide assistance with computer systems by replacing network
installing and upgrading hardware and software, and providing support and training to
end users.
- Ensuring assets are maintained and reviewed on a regular basis to ensure they are functioning effectively.
- Contribute to the identification and escalation of problems in supported services and solutions.
- Communicates with all customers, stakeholders and wider ITS group on project status and appropriate maintenance or installation timelines.
- Work to ensure relevant KPI's are met for the product or assignment.
- Facilitate and support audits / site assessments ensuring that all preparation is completed, and any corrective actions are closed out inline with recommended timeline.
- Assist with Lifecycle Management and any other Infrastructure related projects.
- Promote Volvo IT values and culture

Experience and Qualifications
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience & training.
- Significant experience of working in the end user support area.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with: PC Hardware/Software, LANS/WANS,
print servers, firewalls, spam & antivirus software etc.
- Experience of working in a customer focused IT environment.
- Proven ability to define, follow and implement to agreed deliverables, timelines and
